This statue was erected to honour the women who served in the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service during World War II. It is located in Cambridge, Ontario in a section of the city which was previously called Galt. The statue was completed on October 8, 1972. The caption on the monument is:

"TO HONOUR THE WOMEN'S ROYAL CANADIAN NAVAL SERVICE, AND TO EXPRESS THANKS TO THE CITY OF GALT, WHERE THEY RECEIVED THEIR BASIC TRAINING 1942-1946

POUR HONORER LE SERVICE FEMININ DE LA MARINE ROYALE DU CANADA, ET EN REMERCIEMENT A LA VILLE DE GALT, OU ELLES ONT RECU L'ENTRAINEMENT FONDAMENTAL

8 OCT -- 1972"
